My first steps related to fishing began at the age of three, when my father (an otherwise experienced fisherman) took me to Lake Perućac for the first time. We were fishing for chub and while he was explaining to me what I should do when the float disappears, looking at him I didn't even notice that my float had been under water for a long time, but the experienced master didn't miss it, so together we managed my first catch, a chub of 0 ,7kg which in my eyes looked much bigger. That day, the love of fishing was born, and the world became richer for another nature lover.
As I grew up and matured, so did my horizons, so I tried myself in all fishing disciplines: float, lure, fly fishing, and in the meantime I started making artificial flies, and although I had a lot of success in all of the above, it seemed to me that that these are not my ultimate reaches. Listening to the stories of the old masters, especially Mlađ Obrenović, who selflessly gave advice to us younger people, I decided that my next challenge would be Hucho (Danube salmon). January 27, 1998 will be remembered as the first outing on the river Lim, where I was lucky enough to have a river queen on my rod, which still managed to emerge as the winner. On the one hand, I am disappointed, and on the other, I am motivated to focus on this noble fish in the future. At that time, lures were expensive and hard to come by, and the offer did not meet our needs in terms of decor, sizes, I decided to start making them myself, and I used sponge and silicone to make them. The first one made on gobio from a sponge looked like the real thing, but due to ignorance of the laws of physics in the water, it did not work properly, but we also had catches on such lures. Since I had a regular job, I didn't have time to make them regularly, but it was seasonal for me and my friends, and I gave most of them away to other anglers. Over time, the baits proved to be catchable for most predators, fishermen wanted to buy them, so I quit my job and, in agreement with my father, an independent craft shop Aleksandar Vidic PR Production of fishing equipment and the newly created brand Sasha baits was created.
25 years have passed since the first lure was made until today, we devoted ourselves to what we love, and the hobby has grown into a business, which today is our main source of income, and silicone and sponge are the main materials in production. We work from silicone (lipless crankbaits and cofs), and from sponges (gobio, vretenars, vijuns and sponge fish). All our lures are 100% handmade, without the use of any machines, so orders are limited.
Sasha baits are intended for a wide range of anglers, from those who are just taking their first steps, to those with many years of experience. We try to realize the customer's ideas, because your satisfaction is our success.
